Evy and Steve Klassen

Evy and Steve Klassen are the Executive-Directors of the MARK Centre.   Together they have given leadership to the MARK Centre from its inception.  Steve and Evy believe that God speaks to people today in a variety of ways.  They also believe our greatest need is to hear his voice speak to the depths of our being.  They both love to guide people in listening experiences and facilitate short retreats.  Steve is a trained Spiritual Director and meets with individuals for monthly sessions.  He also speaks publicly, dramatizing stories from Mark that highlight God’s personal love for people. Steve and Evy have six children.

Joy Rousay

Joy Rousay is the Director of Operations for the MARK Centre.  You may meet her in a variety of roles, as she has a background in hospitality and accounting.  She delights in providing a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment that can become a sacred space in which God can speak to His children.  Joy lives on site in the house at the front of the property.

Catherine Bentum

Catherine Bentum works in the office at the MARK Centre, cleans the chalet and leads guests through listening experiences.  She is passionate about sharing stories of faith and about listening to God.

Judy Harms-Wiebe

Judy Harms-Wiebe is passionate about caring for missionary families on home assignment.  Judy believes people in ministry need time away from their regular routine to be ministered to and she would love to see this happen in practical and creative ways at the MARK Centre.  She enjoys speaking, teaching, praying for people and coming along side those who desire to live out their calling with passion.  She and her husband, Ray, have three daughters: Ashley, Alanna and Alyssa.

Lorie Martin

Lorie is a retreat leader at MARK Centre.  She has a passion to encourage everyone to know and experience the intimate & interactive love Jesus has with us.  She co-ordinates and shares at retreats for leadership teams, care & prayer groups, missions teams and women's ministries.  The retreats are contemplative in nature composed of quiet interactive times with the Lord through Scripture, worship, listening and healing prayer encounters.  As well, Lorie is a qualified Spiritual Director for staff and guests at the MARK Centre. Her greatest joys are being part of God's healing and reconciliation individually and in community.  Her days are spent with family, pastoring, writing, enjoying friends and walking in nature.  She lives in Abbotsford with her husband of 30 years, Dwight, and they have 5 children.

Theresa Schroeder 

Theresa Schroeder is a massage practitioner and enjoys blessing people as they come to listen and rest at the MARK Centre.  You may experience Theresa’s creative side in the form of a gift basket in your room or on the grounds as she loves to garden in her free time.

Joanna Shantz

Joanna Shantz first came to hear of the MARK Centre when she was a part of TREK.  She lives out her passion to love and serve people through her gifts as an aesthetician.  

Jenn Gibbard

Jenn Gibbard is excited to be part of the MARK Centre team, which is intentional about living out the values of listening and resting.  She has a heart to serve and is passionate about prayer ministry and the transformation and restoration of hearts. 


Elli Kvemshagen

Elli Kvemshagen was an intern from Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute (Camrose, AB) who came in August 2007 to serve for 8 months at the MARK Centre.
