Steve Klassen invites you to three evenings of reading and responding to stories from Scripture for this the second offering of this special series. We piloted this series in the summer of 2017 and had a wonderful response and felt there might be others who might benefit from learning this meditative approach to scripture. During these evenings we will practice together a non-rushed and reflective style of reading the Bible called Lectio Divina. Every session will include a reading and a time of reflection and discussion.
Our study will be based on trappist monk Brother Simeon’s work on this topic. Brother Simeon identified nine qualities of Lectio Divina, and each week we will take a look at three of these qualities together as well as participate in a lectio divina on a scripture passage.
