Yesterday I asked a group of seniors what PEACE ON EARTH looks like to them and one man replied, “Forgiveness”. I was glad to hear his answer as I was prepared to tell 2 stories about forgiveness in my short speech that will also be featured at our Christmas Walk-Through next week.
After my message was done, it was inspiring to connect with the man who spoke out that word forgiveness and learn more about his experience with it. Years ago, after his sister was murdered, he was prompted to not only forgive the criminal who killed her, but to pursue that man with kindness. The act of compassion was well-received as the criminal accepted God’s forgiveness toward him and began a new life. Now, the former criminal is a messenger of peace on earth as he is impacting dozens of people simply by sharing his story of forgiveness.
Next week we are celebrating the theme of Peace on Earth at our annual open house event we refer to as the SILENT WALK-THROUGH. We would love to have you join us as we listen for God this Christmas and remember those who have gone before us and lived a life of peace on earth.
