Steve Klassen together with his wife Evy have given leadership to the MARK Centre from its inception. They believe that God speaks to people today in a variety of ways, and have written a collection of their stories in Your Ears Will Hear. They both love to guide people in listening experiences and facilitate short retreats. Steve is a trained Spiritual Director and meets with individuals for monthly sessions. He also speaks publicly, dramatizing stories from Mark that highlight God’s personal love for people.

In addition to leading retreats with Steve and the Mark Centre team, Evy enjoys guiding nursing students in contemplative practices, and collecting data, as a research associate, on the connection between art and spirituality. In her words, she is having a lot of fun!

Laura has returned to work on the MARK Centre grounds for the second time, with even more excitement in cultivating an abundant and peaceful environment in and around the retreat chalet. She strives to make space for beauty, harmony, and growth for Love to dwell. With her undergrad education in counselling, she pursues the same hopes for the people she daily encounters.

Sam serves on our team as the director of operations. Sam loves how Jesus came to reunite us with God, and is passionate about helping people experience the life-satisfying implications of this - a constant, abiding relationship with the One who loves us. Sam also likes to spend time with his wife Laura, read, play musical instruments, and spend time outside.
