Silent Retreat

Silence.

If we’re honest, it’s intimidating for many of us.

Consistent noise has become the new normal. Silence can often feel awkward, exposing, or even threatening. But what might we be missing out on without silence?

In the great sea of noise, the voices that matter most are often difficult to hear. Silence teaches us to listen.

Further, silence gives the gift of a new appreciation for the power of words. “Let those who cannot be silent beware of speaking.” Silence is what gives our words meaning.

Silence also brings us freedom from the compulsion to speak, the need to be understood, the desire to get our way. Silence can be profoundly transformative.

If you are interested in exploring, experiencing, and practicing silence, please consider joining us in November at the MARK Centre chalet for a two night silent retreat. This is a unique opportunity to experience the profound power of silence.

Food and accommodation in a private room is included at the price of $350. One spiritual direction session is also included during this retreat.

“Far from being a mere absence, silence allows the reality of God to stand in the midst of your life. God does not ordinarily compete for our attention. In silence we come to attend.” - Dallas Willard
