More than just a peaceful place or a gathering of people interested in spiritual activities, the MARK Centre is about a community of people that are journeying together and encouraging one another to practice a lifestyle of listening to God. The following leaders and staff members play an integral role in the day-to-day functioning of the MARK Centre.
People
Steve Klassen
Director
Steve Klassen together with his wife Evy have given leadership to the MARK Centre from its inception. They believe that God speaks to people today in a variety of ways, and have written a collection of their stories in Your Ears Will Hear. They both love to guide people in listening experiences and facilitate short retreats. Steve is a trained Spiritual Director and meets with individuals for monthly sessions. He also speaks publicly, dramatizing stories from Mark that highlight God’s personal love for people. Steve and Evy have six children and a new daughter-in-law.
Theresa Hiebert
Director of Operations
Theresa joined our team as Director of Operations in February of 2018. She comes with experience from years of working in a variety of church and other office positions. Theresa has been connected to MARK Centre through participating in retreats and other events over the years.
Heidi Dick
Bookkeeper
Heidi has been closely connected to the Mark Centre since it's inception and has helped in a number of roles from laundry and cleaning to office work. She started in the role of Overseer of Operations in early 2013 and added the role of bookkeeper in 2015. In 2017 she stepped down as overseer, but stays involved with the centre now as our bookkeeper. Sam and Heidi have two kids.
Judy Buckmaster
Facilities
Judy has been part of our staff team since 2013. She keeps our chalet squeaky clean and maintains a standard of excellence in our housekeeping. Judy and her husband Greg have been married for 25 years and have two sons and a daughter-in-law. She loves that the Mark Centre provides a peaceful atmosphere for people to retreat away from the busyness of life and receive refreshment in God.
